Today I will be uncharacteristically brief, and leave with you an unfortunate point, and a fortunate one.

Unfortunately for the world at large little fanfare has been made about the defacement of Délacroix’s famous Liberty Leading the People during its loan to the new Louvre-Lens museum.  Apparently a 28 year old woman went at it with a sharpie in order to draw attention to a group that believes that 9/11 was an insider job.  Although the Sharpie was safely removed, no doubt the damage has been done to the museum, who will now have an incredibly hard time getting new masterpieces loaned to them.

Fortunately for me, this excellent article has already been written outlining the events and consequences, so I will just direct you there.
